Whether a construction project is big or small an excavator is an important tool that companies should have. An excavator is a tracked vehicle with a bucket in front and an approximate operating weight of 0.7 - 7.5 tons. The bucket that is seen in front of the tracked vehicle tilts to dig out a particular area. For bigger projects a full size excavator is used to perform the job. However for those areas where it is difficult for full size excavator to access a mini excavator is used. Mini excavators are very mobile and are suitable for this kind of construction projects. Nowadays most companies favor mini excavators because of its mobility and flexibility. It can easily be maneuvered to reach a narrow part of the area. Also another good reason is that it is suitable to any other attachment. Since the primary purpose of this is to dig out the ground other attachments attached to the excavator can improve the quality of the construction job and perform other tasks.
Excavators are construction vehicles used in various construction activities like road construction for digging and the moving material on the site. They are also commonly referred to as backhoes or diggers called so because they use wire rope or a hydraulic system to dig holes and trenches. An excavator has a long boom arm that is mounted on a pivot and connected at an elbow to a stick that holds the bucket. The bucket is an attachment and can be removed and replaced by a different accessory depending on the specification of the work being done. The excavator can be used for different operations at the construction site. The cab of an excavator can rotate a full 360 degrees. For this reason another common name for an excavator is the 360 degree digger.
Suction Excavators Apart from bucket excavators some excavators play the role of a vacuum by sucking out debris and other dirt materials from the ground. The excavation that takes place using a suction excavator requires the use of water in the soil. The water makes the soil loose making it easier for the suction pipe to suck the debris. Suction excavators are used when there is a need to extract soil from the ground for experimental purposes. Long Reach Excavators Long reach excavators have a long arm and boom sections. These types of excavators are usually used in demolition tasks. These machines are strong and can easily break walls and solid structures with power. Their long arms allow the handlers to stay at a safe distance from the demolition debris yet perform the task successfully in less time.
Different types of heavy equipments are used for different applications and purposes. They are most commonly used in performing tasks necessary to complete a construction project. One particular type of heavy equipments (construction equipment earth movers engineering vehicles or just plain equipment) is an Excavator. An excavator mainly consists of a boom bucket and cab on a rotating platform called a House that sits on top of an undercarriage with tracks or wheels. Number of reasons exit for the functions and application of an excavator. Excavators may be used in digging trenches holes and foundations. It could also be used in handling materials and in brush cutting with hydraulic attachments. Forestry works are also made easier and facilitated by the use of excavators.
